Procedures
WHAT ARE NANO BROWS (HAIR STROKE EFFECT)?
Nano Brows are a form of permanent makeup and an advanced machine technique used to create ultra-fine hair strokes that mimic natural eyebrow hairs, also known as a hair stroke effect.
During the procedure, pigment is gently implanted into the skin using a machine technique to recreate missing hairs, add density, and improve the overall brow shape.
The result is soft, natural-looking brows that enhance your facial features while maintaining a realistic appearance.
WHAT IS A POWDER / OMBRÉ BROW?
Powder / Ombré Brows are a form of permanent makeup that creates a soft, shaded effect similar to the look of brow powder or lightly filled-in pencil. The procedure is performed using a micro-pigmentation machine to gently implant pigment into the skin, building a smooth gradient of color. This technique provides longer-lasting results and is suitable for all skin types, including oily skin, as well as for clients with sparse or fuller natural brows.
HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
Permanent makeup typically lasts up to 12–18 months before a color refresh is recommended. Pigment is placed under the upper layer of the skin, so it cannot be washed or rubbed off.
Permanent makeup is often described as “semi-permanent” because the color gradually softens and fades over time. However, fading varies from person to person, and some residual pigment may remain in the skin even after several years if the area is not refreshed.
Longevity depends on many factors, including skin type, lifestyle (such as sun exposure), skincare treatments (chemical peels, dermabrasion, etc.), and pigment intensity. Generally, softer, more natural results fade faster, while more saturated colors may last longer.
Periodic touch-ups help maintain the desired color and shape over time.
DOES IT HURT?
Most clients report little to no discomfort during permanent makeup procedures. Sensitivity can vary depending on individual pain tolerance and skin sensitivity.
For brow and lip procedures, the treatment is generally very well tolerated. In most cases, a secondary numbing solution applied during the procedure is enough to maintain comfort.
For eyeliner procedures, where the area can be more sensitive, a two-step numbing process may be used to ensure maximum comfort.
Our goal is always to make sure you feel relaxed and comfortable during your appointment, and additional numbing can be applied throughout the procedure if needed.
HOW LONG DOES THE PROCEDURE TAKE?
Appointments generally take 2–3 hours from start to finish. Permanent makeup is a detailed procedure, and sufficient time is always reserved to ensure precision and quality results.
ARE YOUR TOOLS STERILE?
All needles are individually sealed and opened in front of the client at the beginning of the procedure. Each needle is single-use only and is safely disposed of immediately after the treatment.
All consumable materials used during the procedure are disposable and single-use to ensure the highest level of hygiene and safety.
All work surfaces, trays, treatment beds, and equipment are thoroughly disinfected and prepared before and after every appointment in accordance with strict sanitation standards.
Before Appointment
AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR PERMANENT MAKEUP?
Most clients are good candidates for permanent makeup. However, certain health conditions or medications may affect the healing process or the final results. Permanent makeup may not be recommended, or may require additional consultation, if you have any of the following:
- Currently taking Isotretinoin (Accutane)
- Under the age of 18
- A tendency to develop keloid scars (please contact the studio for consultation)
- Serious medical conditions that may affect healing, such as cancer treatments or certain autoimmune disorders (please consult with your physician)
- Bleeding disorders
- Taking blood-thinning medications or medications that may affect the body’s healing process
BOTOX BEFORE APPOINTMENT
Recent Botox or Brow Area Treatments If you have recently received Botox or similar treatments in the brow area, it is recommended to wait approximately 2 weeks before your permanent makeup appointment. This allows the muscles to fully settle so the natural brow position can be accurately assessed and the most balanced shape can be created. Botox itself is not a contraindication for permanent makeup procedures.
PREGNANCY & BREASTFEEDING
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
As a general precaution, permanent makeup procedures are typically postponed during early pregnancy. However, in some cases — particularly during the second trimester — the procedure may be considered if the client feels comfortable proceeding and understands that it is performed under their personal responsibility.
Brow procedures are generally very gentle and minimally uncomfortable. Some clients may choose to proceed without topical anesthetic. If anesthetic is required, professional topical products designed for sensitive clients are used.
For clients who are breastfeeding, permanent makeup procedures are commonly performed. If you have been nursing for an extended period (for example 6 months or longer) and do not plan to stop breastfeeding soon, hormonal levels are often more stable.
Topical anesthetics used during the procedure are applied locally to the skin and are commonly used in cosmetic procedures. If you have any concerns regarding pregnancy or breastfeeding, we recommend consulting with your healthcare provider before scheduling your appointment.
WHAT SHOULD I DO BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT?
Please avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medications such as ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) for at least 24 hours before your appointment, as they may increase sensitivity and bleeding during the procedure.
Moderate caffeine intake, such as one cup of coffee, is generally acceptable if you do not have issues with high blood pressure. However, it is best to avoid excessive caffeine before your appointment.
You may wear makeup to your appointment if you wish. The treatment area will be gently cleansed before the procedure begins.
If possible, try to avoid booking your appointment during the first one or two days of your menstrual cycle, as the body may be more sensitive during this time.
DO I NEED TO TWEEZE OR THREAD MY BROWS BEFORE THE APPOINTMENT?
No preparation is needed for your brows before the appointment. Please avoid tweezing, threading, or waxing beforehand. We will shape and clean up your brows during the appointment once the desired brow shape has been discussed and mapped.
HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY LIP BLUSH APPOINTMENT?
If you are scheduled for a lip blush (lip permanent makeup procedure), it is important to keep your lips well hydrated before your appointment.
We recommend gently exfoliating your lips about 3–4 days before the procedure and applying a moisturizing lip balm regularly. Well-hydrated lips allow the pigment to be implanted more evenly, which helps achieve better pigment retention and smoother healing.
COLD SORES & LIP BLUSH
If you have a history of cold sores (herpes simplex) on the lips, it is recommended to consult with your family physicianbefore your appointment. Your doctor may prescribe an antiviral medication as a preventative measure.
Permanent makeup of the lips involves creating small micro-injuries in the skin, which can sometimes trigger a cold sore outbreak in individuals who are prone to them.
We generally recommend following your physician’s instructions regarding antiviral medication. In many cases, clients begin taking the prescribed medication on the day of the procedure, as directed by their doctor.
If you are unsure, please speak with your healthcare provider prior to your appointment.

HOW LONG DOES HEALING TAKE?
Most clients are able to resume their normal daily activities immediately after the appointment, as there is generally little to no downtime.
The healing process continues over the following weeks as the pigment gradually settles into the skin.
WHAT HAPPENS RIGHT AFTER THE PROCEDURE?
Immediately after the procedure, the treated area may appear slightly darker, and mild redness or swelling can occur. If present, these effects usually subside within a short period of time.
Although the color may initially look more intense, it typically softens as the skin begins to heal.
WHEN WILL I SEE FINAL RESULT?
Final healed results are visible after the treated area has fully healed and the required perfecting touch-up appointment has been completed.
Permanent makeup is a multi-step process, and the touch-up is an essential part of completing the procedure. This appointment allows the artist to refine the shape, reinforce the pigment, and improve the overall balance of the healed result.
